These massive oil on canvas paintings are extremely vibrant and magnetic! Francoise Nielly's palette knife incisive technique brings modernity to her paintings. This Parisian based artist has been painting for 20 years never failing to express strong and almost fiery images. I like how she manages to emphasize her portrait paintings with fluorescent colors yet is still able to capture the dramatic emotions of her subjects. So in love with her work! I want her to paint my sisters and I so that I can one day display it in my future living room. Hahaha... *wishful thinking*

Here are some doggie portraits I found in Nielly's website. Wanted to share it just because dogs are awesome!

Indonesian funkadelic rock band, AKA, was founded in May 1967 in Surabaya. The members of the group consist of Ucok Harahap (keyboard/main vocals), Syech Abidin (drums/vocals), Soenata Tanjung (main guitar/vocals), and Arthur Kaunang (bass). AKA stands for 'apotik kali asin' which literally translates to 'pharmacy of salty river' in English. A tad unusual for a band name but at least the weirdness meshes well with the identity of their music and interestingly the name derived from an actual pharmacy that Ucok's parents owned which is also a place where the band used to practice. AKA's sound was popular amongst young Indonesians of that era; a time where eccentric rock was considered taboo. This particular track was released in 1972 and I'm so psyched for this find. Why can't we produce and exhibit originality as we have in the past? Music needs to be rediscovered!

Dancer and performing artist, Tony Orrico, has made a human spirograph art with the fluid movements of his arms. Amazing patterns of symmetrical mathematical curves are created through a repetitive process by tracing the contours of his upper body or simply drawing with the wing of his arm span. He simultaneously moves his entire figure to the degree of design that he wishes to invent with infatuating precision, incredible focus and bewildering endurance. His work is truly mesmerizing art and mathematics. I am in awe!
